A basic skincare routine generally consists of a gentle cleanser, a hydrating moisturizer, and a sunscreen of SPF 30 or higher for really sunny days. The key to good skincare is in knowing your skin type.

You Have Visible Broken Blood Vessels
Your Skin Shows a Yellow Tint

    Final Thoughts

Normal, dry, oily, and combination are the four common skin types. Genetics and color can determine how your skin type will react to factors such as heavy sunlight, irritation, and inflammation.

Skin sensitivity, dryness, oiliness, and breakouts can become more problematic over time. There are warning signs you can identify that indicate that you need more systematic skin treatment.

Learn the vital signs which hint at a more complex problem.

Your Skin Regularly Flushes Under Heat

Blushing from embarrassment or anxiety is normal. Flushed skin is mostly harmless if short-lived, but it may require extra care if it becomes frequent.

Blood vessels under the skin expand and fill up with blood, causing the skin to turn red. It is more visible where the vessels are in closest contact with the skin such as the chest or cheeks.

Heat stroke and heat exhaustion occur when additional symptoms such as difficulty breathing, exhaustion, or confusion develop alongside skin flushes. Immediately drink water and take deep breaths when it happens.

Make a few lifestyle changes if the symptoms persist. Avoid hot and spicy food and limit caffeinated drinks and alcohol. Do not smoke or vape; instead, focus on daily yoga practices.

You Have Patches of Dry Skin

Cold, dry weather is a common cause of dry skin. However, persistent patches of dry skin on your body may indicate a deeper problem.

Atopic eczema causes the skin to crack and become itchy, dry, and sore. The location of the patches varies among people. Some encounter only mild patches while others have inflamed skin all over their body.

Avoid scratching the area as it may turn from red to darker purple. Cover the bruising with petroleum jelly or a simple hydrating moisturizer at least twice a day. Apply anti-itch cream and allergy medication based on your suggested dose.

You might need prescription-strength medication if it does not heal within a few days. Contact your local dermatologist and seek advice.

Dehydration and diabetes are other causes of persistent dry skin which is a vital sign that your skin needs extra attention.

Your Spots and Bumps Are Expanding or Changing

Acnes are the most common type of spots or bumps on your skin. Mild and moderate acne can be treated with home remedies or small doses of medication. Severe stages of acne require extra attention and care in addition to your daily skin-care routine.

You can refer to GoodGlow, which can provide you with all the necessary steps that you need to tick off on a regular basis to avoid acne and maintain clear skin.

For instance, home remedy options for acne include aloe vera gel for smoothness, tea tree oil for pain relief, and propolis, which is found in bee products, for smoother skin.

Severe acne causes the most inflamed lesions all over the body. This may induce blisters like bumps on your skin. Oral isotretinoin, which is a strong course of treatment, is prescribed in severe cases of acne.

Allergic reactions, hives, and friction blisters will also cause the spots on your skin to expand. You will require the immediate attention of a doctor to assess your skin condition under extreme situations.

You Are Growing Multiple Oddly-Shaped Moles

A dysplastic nevus differs from a common mole in color, shape, and borders. It can be of several colors ranging from pink to dark brown. Its surface is usually flat with an irregular edge that fades into the surrounding area of the skin.

Dysplastic nevi mostly occur on sun-exposed surfaces of the skin such as your back. However, it can also be seen on your breast or area under the waist.

It is normal to have a couple of irregular moles on your body, but the greater the number of dysplastic nevi a person has, the chances of developing melanoma increase.

Monitor the color, shape, size, and texture of your moles. If they begin to itch or ooze blood, immediately consult a doctor to get your skin checked and apply extra attention to your skin.

Your Skin Is Showing Signs of Dullness

Skin is the most visible aspect of one’s body. Dull skin can be caused by dehydration, smoking, dryness, or aging, all of which must be treated with special care. But these things can be avoided or solved through basic skin care and some lifestyle changes.

For instance, reducing or quitting smoking can be a huge benefit. Tobacco can damage the production of collagen and weaken the connective tissues in your skin. Avoid harsh scrubs and drying soaps to avoid dehydrating your skin.

Remove any makeup you have on your skin and gently exfoliate. Add a hydrating serum to your routine to rejuvenate your skin. Use products carrying Vitamin C, Vitamin B3, ferulic acid, and resveratrol which have antioxidant properties that help repair collagen damage.

Do not use hot water on your skin. Instead, use lukewarm water to show care for your skin.

Your Skin Often Sting When Products Are Applied

Since makeup is directly applied to the part of your skin that has nerve fibers close to its surface, inflammation occurs when you use products that are not suitable for you or have a lower pH than your skin. You will need extra care if it begins to sting.

Sting is the most intense level of sensation caused by the inflammation on your skin. The common causes of the burning feeling are the lower pH level of the products, highly fragrant items, denatured alcohols infused within the products, and the sensitivity of your skin.

Get your skin type checked in advance to avoid buying a range of products that do not suit your skin. Add a moisture barrier before applying other products. A healthy skin-care routine begins with well-hydrated skin, so choose the right products that will suit your skin type.

You Have Wart-like Growth on Your Skin

Wart is a contagious skin infection that causes rough, skin-colored bumps on the surface of your skin. They are most commonly visible on the hands but may appear in other spots as well.

Benign forms of this are noncancerous but are still signs of concern. People who have autoimmune diseases and a weakened immune system are more prone to attracting the virus which generates warts.

You can, however, halt or avoid their growth by applying over-the-counter wart removal medication every day for several months. The medication comes in liquid or gel form which dissolves warts one layer at a time. For more persistent growth, autoimmune therapy will help fight the virus.

You Have Visible Broken Blood Vessels

Broken blood vessels or spider veins, which appear on the face, can have varying risk factors depending on their specific cause. Some determinants require extra attention than others.

Heredity, pregnancy, rosacea, and weather changes are important factors in causing the disease. Other matters naturally heal over time. However, in the case of genetics, individual risk factors increase with age.

Adapt natural remedies such as applying apple cider vinegar in place of your usual toner and washing your face with lukewarm water. Consult your doctor in the case of a more persistent case of spider veins.

Your Skin Shows a Yellow Tint

Your skin will show a yellow tint when it loses its natural complexion. The disease is called Sallow Skin and needs special care when it appears on your face.

A lot of factors including anemia, vitamin deficiency, smoking, dehydration, stress, and lack of sleep induce Sallow Skin.

Implement iron and Vitamin B12 into your diet or take additional supplements. Eat nutrient-rich foods and tropical fruits to give your body the necessary vitamins. Stop using tobacco products and drink plenty of water.

Ensure a good night’s sleep to reduce stress. For additional care, consult your dietitian.

    Your Lips Are Often Chapped

Skin is the thinnest and most sensitive around the lips. They do not hold any oil glands and become more susceptible to dryness. Sun exposure, dehydration, and cold weather are common causes of chapped lips. However, contact with an allergen or a medical condition will need extra attention.

Taking Vitamin B and iron supplements will heal milder cases of cheilitis, as chapped lips are medically known. Check your allergies, thyroid, and immune system to catch any signs of severity.

Staying hydrated, applying lip balm, and not licking your lips will help to avoid chapped lips.

    Final Thoughts

Regularly examining your skin will enable you to detect any abnormalities. Give special attention to your skin if you notice any changes or warning signs.

Look out for dry and patchy skin including chapped lips. Take extra care if you are prone to hot flushes. Sallow skin, spider veins, and warts will need a change in lifestyle and proper medication. Keep yourself hydrated and choose natural products to avoid dullness on your skin.

If your spots and moles are growing and expanding, consult a doctor to limit their development. Give your body the extra touch of care and attention for healthier skin.
