    Benefit of Soyabeans
    Source: this day live

Soybeans are very rich in nutritive components. Besides the very high protein content, soybeans contain a lot of fiber and are rich in calcium, magnesium. The soy protein has a high biological value and contains all the essential amino acids.

With its fiber content, soya beans also help in boosting digestion and aids metabolism. Soya bean seed can be used in making different foods; including soy milk, textured vegetable protein, and soya bean oil.

    Benefit of Soybeans

Nutritionists agree that soya bean is one of the most consumed legumes in the world. The reason for this is not far-fetched as it has many essential nutrients that maintain and improves human health. Soya bean is highly revered as a good meal source for people who are on a diet.

Its protein content enhances metabolic functions in the body and thus helps to improve human health, ensuring that human cells are well repaired. It also helps with weight reduction and protects people from diseases such as diabetes and cardiovascular diseases.

Soybean also contains vitamins like; vitamin c, vitamin k, riboflavin, folate, vitamin B6 and thiamin. Potassium, copper, phosphorous, selenium and zinc are some of the other minerals that can be derived from soya beans. Regular intake of soya beans helps in the prevention of cancer due to its high level of antioxidants. Its protein content makes it a choice meal that spreads around various markets across Nigeria.

    Side Effects of Soya beans

Soybeans are rich in unsaturated fatty acids and low in saturated fatty acids, which need to be avoided

Soya milk is a "superfood" and is an excellent source of nutrition. Soya beans contain all three of the macro-nutrients required for good nutrition: carbohydrate, healthy fat, and complete protein. soya beans are also an excellent source of B vitamins, calcium, folic acid, and iron. The latest research is showing that soya beans have many anti-carcinogenic properties due to soy isoflavones? these are phytochemicals which exert biological effects in humans and animals.

The consumption of soya foods made from soya beans, rather than soya protein powder, is known to be safe and healthy in moderation. In addition to fighting cancer, other scientific studies show that soya milk and soya beans may help prevent diabetes and heart disease.

The fat in soya beans is health promoting rather than fattening: 61% is polyunsaturated and 24% is monounsaturated, which is comparable to the total unsaturated fat content of many other vegetable oils. Soya milk is high in linoleic and linolenic acid which help the body absorb vital nutrients and maintain good health.

The consumption of soya bean milk is good for health as part of a balanced diet. But don't just stick to soya bean milk - try other kinds of milk such as rice milk and almond milk. Never give soya bean milk, dairy milk (or any other type of milk) to children under two - they should only be given human breast milk or baby formula milk.
