Visita Plus is a medicine that is used for the treatment of bacterial infections, prevention of oral thrush, fungal skin infection of vagina, relief of itching, and other conditions. It is also used in all commonly encountered dermatoses with bacteria or fungal infection, mixed dermatoses, contact dermatitis, atopic dermatitis (eczema), chronic otitis externa, candidiasis, and napkin rash.
It belongs to the therapeutic class of Anti-infective/Corticosteroid combinations. Visita Plus is manufactured in form of a cream product.

- Allergic rhinitis

Visita Plus contains the following in percentage compositions:
Clotrimazole - 1% composition
Beclomethasone dipropionate - 0.25% composition
Gentamicin Sulfate- 0.1% composition
PHARMACOLOGY OF VISITA PLUS’ COMPONENTS
Clotrimazole:
Clotrimazole is a broad-spectrum antifungal agent that is used for the cure of dermal infections caused by several species of pathogenic dermatophytes and malassezia furfur.
The primary action of Clotrimazole is against dividing and growing organisms.
In vitro, Clotrimazole exhibit fungi static and fungicidal activities against isolates of Trichophyton rubrum, Trichophyton mentagrophytes, Epidemophyton floccosum and Microporum canis.
Beclomathasone dipropionate:
Beclomathasone dipropionate, a corticosteroid, is effective in the treatment of corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses primarily because of its anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, and vasoconstrictive actions. Due to its anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, and anti-allergy properties, Beclomethasone dipropionate is used in various inflammatory conditions, such as asthma, allergic rhinitis, and dermatoses to reduce symptoms.
When inhaled, it is proposed that Beclomethasone dipropionate remains active locally in the lung without causing significant side effects associated with systemic corticosteroids.
Gentamicin Sulfate:
Gentamicin sulfate, a wide-spectrum antibiotic, provides highly effective topical treatment in primary and secondary bacterial infections of the skin. Patients treated with aminoglycosides should be under close clinical observation because of the potential toxicity associated with their use. Gentamicin, like all aminoglycosides, may accumulate in the serum and tissues of patients treated with higher doses and/or for prolonged periods, particularly in the presence of impaired renal function.
In adult patients, treatment with gentamicin dosages of 4 mg/kg/day or higher for 7 to 10 days may result in a slight, progressive rise in both peak and trough concentrations. In patients with impaired renal function, gentamicin is cleared from the body more slowly than in patients with normal renal function. The more severe the impairment, the slower the clearance.
NOTE THAT:
If you are a contra-indicated patient who is sensitive to Beclomethasone dipropionate, Clotrimazole, Gentamicin sulfate, other corticosteroids or imidazole, or to any other ingredients in this preparation, consult with your medical healthcare provider/doctor to discuss about it.
SIDE EFFECTS OF VISITA PLUS
The systemic absorption of Vista Plus has produced the following side effects:
- Reversible hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis suppression
- Manifestation of Cushing's syndrome
- Irritation
- Itching
- Dryness
- Folliculitis
- Hypertrichosis
- Acneiform eruptions
- Hypopigmentation
- Perioral dermatitis
- Allergic contact dermatitis
- Maceration of the skin
- Secondary peeling edema
- Pruritus
- Urticarial
- General irritation of the skin
- Hyperglycemia
- Glucosuria in some patients.
- Hypersensitivity
If any of the effects mentioned above is noticed, please the treatment should be discontinued and appropriate therapy instituted.
WARNING:
Visita Plus should be used by pregnant women only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus.
DRUG INTERACTIONS OF VISITA PLUS
Drug interactions have not been reported. However, check with your doctor or pharmacist before use to ensure that the combination is safe. Especially pay attention to cancer chemotherapy agents, other topical medications and vitamins.
ADMINISTRATION OF VISITA PLUS
Gently massage adequate Visita Plus cream into the affected and surrounding skin area twice a day, in the morning and evening. For two weeks in tinea cruris and tinea corporis, and for four weeks in tinea pedis.
The use of Visita Plus cream for longer than four weeks is not recommended.
OVERDOSAGE OF VISITA PLUS
Serious over dosage with continuous applications of Visita Plus cream is not likely to happen and would not be expected to lead to a life-threatening situation.
Frequent application of Visita plus Cream on the skin can be absorbed in satisfactory amounts to produce system effects.
HANDLING RECOMMENDATIONS OF VISITA PLUS
It is advised that you store it between 2 degrees and 30 degrees Celsius.
Keep this product away from the reach of children.
