Does your hair look lifeless? Believe it or not, the hair is exposed to different kinds of harmful influences like the sun, pollution, and styling.

Therefore, detox treatment is highly recommended to everyone whose hair looks dull and keeps on collecting grime, dirt, and product residue. Fortunately, there are numerous detox treatments, most of which can be made at home.

    AD

For instance, people can make homemade masks and shampoo by using natural ingredients like aloe vera, bentonite clay, apple cider vinegar, honey, cucumber, lemon, cinnamon, shikakai, etc.

We hope the useful tips below help you get rid of such toxins.

    Try a hair detox mask

One of the most effective ways of getting rid of hair toxins is by creating a detox mask. Three types of basic ingredients are used for creating such a mask, including bentonite clay powder, aloe vera gel, and apple cider vinegar. Bentonite clay powder is copious of minerals like magnesium, potassium, iron, sodium, calcium, and silica. It opens clogged pores and eliminates impurities, chemicals, and heavy metals. See this URL, https://www.webmd.com/a-to-z-guides/bentonite-clay-benefits, for an explanation of the health benefits and uses of bentonite clay powder.

Furthermore, apple cider vinegar is plentiful in vitamin B and C, which are beneficial for the hair and scalp. The anti-inflammatory properties of this product make it convenient in the fight against dandruff. Conversely, the aloe vera gel contains proteolytic enzymes, which aid the repair of dead scalp skin cells. This gel has also proven to be an effective conditioner and minimizes itching.

Such a detox mask can be made by combining half a cup of the above-mentioned ingredients and spread everywhere throughout the hair along with the scalp. After the application process, a shower cap is placed on the head while waiting for twenty to thirty minutes for the mixture to act. The hair should be rinsed with a cup of white vinegar, allowing it to sit for one to three minutes before using detox shampoo.

How to Get Rid of Hair Toxins?Use baking soda

Baking soda is a popular ingredient for hair detox because of its role in removing oil and buildup. Nevertheless, it isn’t recommended for dry hair, which has been damaged by heat. Such a DIY mask is made by using half a cup of baking soda and three cups of hot water. This ingredient should be mixed in hot water and kept aside until you rinse your hair.

Once your hair is entirely wet, make sure to pour the mixture and practice scalp massage for as many as several minutes. The following step is rinsing it out and using a conditioner. Keep in mind that raw honey can be used as a conditioner if you opt for a natural variant.

Moreover, the benefits of baking soda are numerous, such as lifting the cuticles to provide deep cleaning. This DIY mask is effective against dandruff and removes product and oil buildup. Baking soda detox should be used either once weekly or every other week.

    Make honey shampoo

The honey shampoo is another natural method of removing hair toxins. Make sure to click right here for a detox shampoo review. The ingredients necessary for this honey recipe include one tablespoon of raw honey, three tablespoons of filtered water, and essential oils as an optional ingredient. Honey is added to the water and mixed till the ingredients are combined well.

The mixture should be added to wet hair by starting with the scalp and working your way to the bottom. Afterward, the shampoo should be rinsed off with either cool or lukewarm water. Since honey has the role of a humectant, your hair will be constantly moisturized and soft. Also, you’ll be avoiding all the chemicals used in normal shampoo. You can use this homemade product whenever you feel like washing your hair.

How to Get Rid of Hair Toxins?Use cucumber and lemon

Another natural remedy for such detox is the combination of cucumber and lemon. You need a large lemon, a cucumber of medium size, and essential oils of preference. Start by peeling the cucumber and lemon, then chopping them into tiny pieces. These ingredients should be blended with the essential oil that you choose. This mixture is then used like regular shampoo as often as you wish.

Even though the properties of lemon and cucumber are contrasting, they make a perfect combination for individuals with oily scalps. The citric acid present in the lemon is perfect for cleaning your scalp, whereas the cucumber is used for soothing the area. Any grease and dandruff are removed while hair growth is promoted.

    Try a cinnamon detox mask

The cinnamon detox mask is made with half a tablespoon of cinnamon, one teaspoon of baking soda, and two tablespoons of olive oil. Make sure to use a bowl to mix the ingredients till the mixture becomes homogenous. Divide your hair into sections and massage the mask into the scalp gently.

Moreover, it shouldn’t be immediately rinsed but after twenty minutes. Regarding the benefits of the cinnamon mask, it removes grime and other toxins. The high content of antioxidants is beneficial for repairing hair damage if used once on a weekly basis.

How to Get Rid of Hair Toxins?Use shikakai

Last but not least, shikakai is a natural remedy in the form of an herb used for removing excess oil and dirt. You need two shikakai powder tablespoons and water to make a paste and apply it to the scalp. You should massage the scalp for two minutes and then rinse it with cool water.

In addition, shikakai powder is rich in saponins, which clean both the scalp and hair. It also contains plenty of vitamins like vitamin C, D, E, and K, responsible for its nourishing properties. The paste can be applied as often as you would use your normal shampoo. It should be washed off after thirty minutes of soothing your unhealthy scalp.

    The bottom line

There is a vast assortment of natural ingredients to explore when planning to detoxify your hair.

Natural masks are healthy, effective, and easy to make!
