GG 249 Xanax Bar; Basics, Side effects, Addiction, Warnings.

    By Ayomide ChipenwritesUpdated:July 4, 2024
    GG 249 Xanax Bar

GG 249 Xanax bar is a non-formal representation of the pill known as Alprazolam. It is white and has the imprint “GG 249” on its rectangular body. There have been reports on fake GG 249 Xanax bar pills in circulation and the most stand-out means of differentiating the real pill from the fakes is the position of the imprint between the lines.

Alprazolam 2 mg is used to treat medical and psychological conditions such as Borderline Personality Disorder, Depression, Panic Disorder, and Anxiety. It belongs to a schedule 4 controlled substance class due to its potential for abuse and addiction.

In this article, you will get what you need to know about the GG 249 Xanax bar in terms of what it is, how it works, its side effects, the abuse and addiction potential it has, and some important warnings that should be taken seriously when using it.

What is GG 249 Xanax Bar

GG 249 is an imprint that is present on a Xanax bar brand called Alprazolam 2 mg. The pill is longitudinally rectangular and looks like a bar, hence the name Xanax bar. It is white and has three lines on one side whereas the other side is plain. On the lined side, the four spaces created by the lines are contained by “GG”, “2”, “4”, and “9”, in that order from top to bottom. This description is important as it differentiates the authentic GG 249 Xanax bar from the fake types that abound.

Alprazolam 2 mg is a prescription drug that is used to treat panic disorders, anxiety, dysautonomia, tinnitus, depression, and borderline personality disorder.  It is a tranquilizer used to calm the nerves of the brain. It works as a short-term tranquilizer and is in the triazolobenzodiazepine, TBZD, class of drugs. It is also used to treat nausea that results from chemotherapy. It is a commonly prescribed medication in the United States of America despite the concerns that surround its use and its potential to be abused.

Side Effects of Using GG 249 Xanax Bar

The efficacy of the GG 249 Xanax bar is not disputed. It effectively calms the nerves down and helps manage anxiety. However, its calming effect can reach an extreme and it doesn’t help that users of this medication might become too dependent on it, leading to an overdose. Here are some of its side effects.

    • Vertigo
    • Dizziness and unsteadiness.
    • Dry mouth
    • Loss of Inhibitions
    • Insomnia
    • Change in libido
    • Slurred speech
    • Respiratory issues
    • Constipation

These are common and simple side effects of using the GG 249 Xanax bar. However, more serious side effects have been associated with the use of this medication. They are:

    • Muscle weakness
    • Memory loss or amnesia
    • Seizures
    • Suicidal thoughts
    • Jaundice
    • Hallucination

How Does GG 249 Xanax Bar Work?

GG 249 Xanax bar works with the brain. It binds with a receptor called the gamma-aminobutyric acid-A receptor, GABA receptor. Its attachment to this receptor influences the action of the GABA neurons that feed the GABA receptors signals.

This neuron and receptor are responsible for transmitting messages that have to do with panic and anxiety. The Alprazolam calms the GABA receptors and impedes the receipt of panic signals. However, continued use of this medication leads to changes in the receptors and that means the user needs to increase the dose of Alprazolam they use.

Addiction to GG 249 Xanax Bar

It is easy to depend on what helps one feel better and normal. However, dependence can be a difficult thing to give up when it is time to do so. Considering the side effects that come with the use of Alprazolam, it is better not to be dependent on it.

There has been a disparity in the opinions of experts on the effect of dependence on Xanax bar. Some experts say the effect is minimal and isn’t significantly different from effects experienced with other benzodiazepine medications. Others state that the risks are substantial due to the speed of action of the drug.

Addiction usually occurs after a long-term dependence on Xanax for calmness. In essence, dependence leads to addiction. In situations where you have been able to manage your anxiety in the past, you now need the drug to help you achieve calmness in the same situations. There are signs that a patient or user of GG 249 Xanax bar exhibit when they have become dependent on the drug. These signs are termed withdrawal symptoms. The signs include:

    • Abnormal blood pressure
    • Sweaty body despite a low temperature
    • Difficulty breathing
    • Delirium
    • Seizures

These signs present as normal signs of anxiety. Although they may truly be signs of anxiety as previously exhibited by the patient before they started medication, it is also possible that it is a rebound effect of the medication. It can only be differentiated as a withdrawal symptom if the symptoms are more severe than they used to be.

These symptoms are normal when doses are being reduced to lessen or completely remove a user’s dependence on the drug.

Warnings about GG 249 Xanax Bar

Here are some important things to note about GG 249 Xanax bar.

    1. Paradoxical Reactions

GG 249 Xanax bar is known to cause some paradoxical reactions, that is reactions that it is supposed to be treating and bringing under control. Some of such reactions include hyperactivity, tremor, aggression, and hostility.

Therefore, when these reactions occur, inform your doctor.

    1. Interaction with other medications and substances

Combined use of Alprazolam – GG 249 Xanax bar – with some medications that are used to inhibit CYP3A4 – an enzyme found in the liver, responsible for getting rid of residual drugs – such as erythromycin, ketoconazole, and many more may result in the accumulation of Xanax in the body. As a result, the side effects become severe when they happen.

Alcohol and GG 249 Xanax combination have a more-than-normal sedative effect on its users. It leads to intoxication and abnormal behavior.

Also, do not combine Alprazolam with kava (the herb). It may lead the user into semi-comatose. Conversely, plants of the Hypericum genus such as goat weed should not be used with GG 249 Xanax. It reduces the efficacy of the drug.

    1. Overdose

The possibility of overdose is apparent. On a normal dose, the drug slows down the brain and nerves. However, on overdose, the central nervous system shuts down.

The normal dose requires that a user or patient should not exceed 10 milligrams per day. An excess of this recommendation is an overdose.

Signs of overdose include all of the side effects of using Xanax as well as coma, hypotension, and death.

    1. Pregnancy

It is unsafe to use GG 249 Xanax during pregnancy. It and its effect can pass from the mother to the child through the placenta. After the child is born, it can also be transferred to the child through breastfeeding.

Its effect on the child includes drug dependence for the child, including withdrawal symptoms when the damage is noticed and wants to be undone. Also, it causes abnormal mental development for the child. However, a user who is dependent on the drug should avoid pregnancy as it might cause spontaneous abortion.

    Conclusion

GG 249 Xanax bar is also known as Alprazolam, a prescription drug that is used to treat anxiety disorder, Borderline personality disorders, panic disorders, among others. It is a strictly prescribed medication that belongs to the Schedule IV class of medication in the United States and under the United Nations law.

It tends to be abused and it causes some nasty symptoms such as abnormal behavior, coma, hypotension, among others, when a user who has become dependent is being rehabilitated from being dependent and addicted to it.

It is an unsafe medication for pregnant women as the effect of the drug can be passed on to the child, causing abnormal mental development. Also, it interacts with alcohol to produce intense sedation which could lead to semi-comatose or death.
