After suffering from a stroke, patients should try to recover as fast as they can. It’s important to maintain healthy habits to avoid the risk of another stroke. While patients understand this, finding the right place to start the path to recovery can be overwhelming. The following apps are designed to help patients recover easier and faster.

    Cozi: For Tracking Schedules

Cozi is an app designed to keep track of multiple schedules. This app helps caregivers manage their schedule, and it’s best for a person with several caregivers. It coordinates and communicates everyone’s schedules, activities, and plans.

This way, the whole family stays on the same page. More importantly, the patient won’t miss any medication or medical appointments. You can view all items on Cozi instantly and in real-time.

TRCare: A Home-based Digital Therapy Solution

TRCare provides NeuroMotion, a complete upper extremity rehab console. It has sensors and motion tracking devices that help a patient perform stroke exercises to stimulate brain plasticity.

TRCare matches the patient with a licensed therapist and provides them with a NeuroMotion device. The therapist then remotely creates a Home Exercise Program customized to the patient’s goals. The rehabilitation programs are designed to improve a patient’s range of motion, speed, coordination strength, and motor planning.

    VocalEyes: For the Visually Impaired

VocalEyes is an app that helps stroke patients who have suffered damages to the brain areas that process and interpret visual information. Double vision and losing a part of their field of vision are common among stroke patients.

With the help of machine learning technology, VocalEyes helps patients identify objects in their surroundings. Essentially, they can take photo, and the app will tell patients what the camera has captured. The app describes environments, objects, logos, texts, faces, and even currency denominations.

Stop, Breathe & Think: A Meditation and MindfulnessApp

Recovering from a stroke can be daunting, and higher stress levels can make it extra difficult. Stop, Breathe & Think offers meditation and mindfulness help for patients that want to reduce their stress levels and anxiety problems.

Through the app, you can get guided meditation activities, breathing exercises, and acupressure guides to help you put your emotions in check. The exercises take only a few minutes every day, helping you relax and manage your stress levels.

    Medisafe: Personalized Reminders

Medisafe is an app that gives you personalized reminders about your medications and vital drug warnings. It also helps you stay in touch with your caregivers by providing real-time missed medication alerts.

Its main features include refill reminders, where you get notifications when your prescriptions are running low. That way, you’ll never run out of medications. Meanwhile, the drug interaction warnings give you alerts when you shouldn’t take two types of medications at the same time.

    Peak: Train Your Brain

Peak offers brain training exercises to help patients restore and enhance their cognitive function. This helps them boost their thinking skills by challenging them through stimulating games.

On top of that, Peak also provides short, intense workouts that test your focus, memory, problem-solving skills, and reaction time. With Peak, you get Coach, a personal trainer that gives you new workout routines, tracks your progress, and keeps you motivated to continue your path towards recovery.

Language Therapy 4-in-1: Helps You Find the Right Words

Language Therapy 4-in-1 helps patients that suffer from aphasia, a condition that affects a person’s ability to understand what people are saying. Through it, you can also find the right words to say or write.

The app helps improve your reading, writing, listening, and speaking abilities, especially if you suffer from brain damage caused by a stroke. It’s ideal to use the app for 20 minutes each day.

Calm: For Better Sleep and Relaxation

Calm is an app that offers sleep, meditation, and relaxation guides to help patients cope with sudden emotional changes and poor sleeping patterns. This way, they can accept and control emotional changes while making adjustments in their lifestyle and environment.

It has three main features. The Meditation feature teaches patients life-changing meditation skills, while the Sleep feature helps them get better sleeping patterns to feel refreshed every day. Finally, the Music feature offers exclusive music to help patients focus, relax, and fall asleep.
