    Texas Scholarships for Nursing Students.

    Texas Scholarships for Nursing Students

    Scholarships for nursing students in Texas are limited. However, in this article, I will list the few scholarships in Texas and their requirements.

    Also, a  new nursing student should anticipate taking about three years to become a registered nurse (RN) with a license. This occurs after a student completes the academic program at a college or institution that has earned accreditation.

    Below are a few of the Texas Scholarships for Nursing Students.

    1. AD Osterman Scholarship

    Eligibility Requirements

    1. Individuals residing in Texas
    2. Being a senior in high school, a freshman, sophomore, or junior in college
    3. For students wishing to enrol in a 4-year college or university, a GPA of 3.5 is required.
    4. For students wishing to enrol in a 2-year institution, a 3.0 GPA is required.
    5. Must provide proof of financial need
    6. Must provide evidence of previous community service
    7. First-generation college students required
    8. Preferred populations: minorities; veterans, especially those who served in Afghanistan or Iraq or a comparable conflict

    Award Specifics:

    1. Four (4) scholarships were given out, each worth $3,000 for 4-year college/university students and $2,000 for 2-year college students.
    2. One-time grant; students who are still eligible each year may apply.
    3. Must enrol at a Texas public college or university
    4. Must register for 12 hours per semester (fall and spring).

    2. AAF Scholarship

    A resident of one of the following counties in the northernmost Texas Panhandle is required to apply: Armstrong, Briscoe, Carson, Castro, Collingsworth, Childress, Dallam, Deaf Smith, Donley, Gray, Hall, Hansford, Hartley, Hemphill, Hutchinson, Lipscomb, Moore, Ochiltree, Oldham, Parmer, Potter, Randall, Roberts, Sherman, Swisher, or Wheeler.

    Award Type: Scholarship

    3. Abe and Annie Seibel Foundation Loan

    Eligibility Requirements

    1. The applicant must be a Texas resident, a high school graduate from Texas, and a full-time student enrolled in a Texas college or university to finish the prerequisites for a first bachelor’s degree.
    2.  Freshman applicants must have an 1SAT or ACT score of at least 1100 or place in the top 10% of their high school graduating class. 
    3. Every year, grades achieved during the fall semester are evaluated for college-level students. A minimum overall GPA of 3.0 is required, renewable for up to four years. 
    4. A co-signer is necessary.

    Award Type: Loan

    4. Adams Extract Scholarship

    Eligibility Requirements

    1. The candidate must be a resident of the State of Texas, a citizen of the United States, and/or have been born in the United States. The proper proof of citizenship must be provided if the applicant’s place of birth, as listed on the application and/or transcript, is outside of the United States.
    1. The candidate must be a senior graduating in the top one-fourth of his or her class by the end of the first grading period, and possess a 3.5-grade point average on a 4.0 scale throughout their senior year. This ranking must be supported by an accompanying document or by an official transcript.
    1. Certification from a qualified school representative. On the application, the applicant must provide their grade point average. The average must be stated as a percentage in numbers or as a grade point ratio using the scale that is specified. 
    1. The official transcript must include an explanation of the grading system or be attached to the application.
    1. Following the awarding of the scholarship, the applicant must graduate after the spring semester.
    1. According to the applicant’s transcript, the EOC exam must have been passed. 
    1. Applications won’t be considered without test results. The candidate needs to have provided evidence of having passed the SAT or ACT college entrance test. The evidence of the score that may be included in the application must be accompanied by an official transcript or a copy of the test results. The details ought to reflect the test’s date of administration. The highest exam score will be considered for evaluating candidates, although results from other test dates won’t be added together.
    1. The applicant must be a Texas Association member in good standing,
    1. To be eligible to compete for an FCCLA college scholarship, one must be a member of the Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America and be put to use starting in the fall semester of the scholarship’s award year.
    1. The candidate must be enrolled or intend to enrol in a university or a college within the boundaries of the State of Texas. The applicant must specify their chosen major and intended career. There isn’t a restriction on the applicant’s intended major field of study. Applications will not be considered for students who have not applied for admission by the deadline.
    1. An applicant’s leadership potential and character should be shown through their responses to the application’s areas describing one’s involvement in school, extracurricular activities, and community accomplishments. Additional information should also be provided through personal references.
    1. Each application must be accompanied by a typed narrative that is no longer than two double-spaced, 8 1/2″ x 11″ sheets.
    1. The applicant may include any facts in their narrative that they feel is relevant to their application being given due consideration. The significance of a college education should also be a central theme of the tale based on the applicant’s professional objectives. The name, address, and county of the applicant must be written as headings to the narrative on page one’s upper right corner.

    5. Albert Loftin Endowed Scholarship

    Eligibility Requirements

    1. The candidate must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5 and be a degree-seeking student (at least a 3.0 GPA each semester).
    1. Must live in the school’s service region and be a resident of Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, or Texas. Transcripts from Texarkana College must be official.
    1. The first choice will be given to candidates who attended Texarkana College on an Albert Loftin scholarship; the second preference will go to candidates who enrolled full-time at Texarkana College and intend to finish their undergraduate studies at Texas A&M University-Texarkana.

    6. Animal Health International FFA Scholarship

    Eligibility Requirement

    1. The applicant must be a current 2FFA member and under the age of 23. The states of Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Washington, or Wyoming are required for applicants to be residents of one of those states. The strength of the application as a whole will determine the selection.

    7. APIASF/United Health Foundation

    Eligibility Requirement

    1. The applicant must be an Asian and/or Pacific Islander (as defined by the U.S. Census) citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States who intends to pursue a degree that will lead to a career in the health profession and work in an underserved community.
    1. The applicant must be a first-year, full-time student seeking a degree who will be enrolled in an authorized institution or university in the following academic year. Preference will be given to students who speak an Asian or Pacific Islander language fluently or who live in Texas, Illinois, California, New York, or New Jersey, or who attend college there. 
    1. A minimum GPA of 2.7 is needed.

    8. A.L. Markham Endowed Accounting Scholarship

    Eligibility Requirements

    1. The applicant must be a degree-seeking student enrolled in at least nine semester hours, have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5, have finished at least six semester hours of accounting at Texas A&M U – Texarkana, and have a minimum 3.5 GPA with no grade lower than “B” in accounting courses. Additionally, the applicant must be a resident of Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, or Arkansas and live within the school’s service area.

    9. Barry Martin Brown Memorial Scholarship

    Eligibility Requirements

    1. The applicant must be a degree-seeking student enrolled in at least nine semester hours, have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5, have finished at least six semester hours of accounting at Texas A&M U – Texarkana, and have a minimum 3.5 GPA with no grade lower than “B” in accounting courses. Additionally, the applicant must be a resident of Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, or Arkansas and live within the school’s service area.

    10. APIASF/Sara Lee Foundation

    Eligibility Requirements

    1. Students from Alabama, Georgia, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, or Wisconsin with Asian or Pacific Islander origin are eligible for this grant.
    1. Candidates must be graduating high school seniors in the first generation of their immediate family to attend college or university, have a 2.7 GPA, and intend to enrol in a US-accredited college or university to be eligible for this scholarship.
    1. Candidates must be US citizens, nationals, or authorized US residents to be considered.
    1. Applicants must be citizens of the Freely Associated States.

    11. Bobbie A. Atkinson Foundation Scholarship

    Eligibility Requirements

    1. The applicant must be a degree-seeking student enrolled in at least nine semester hours (undergraduate) or six semester hours (graduate).
    1. Must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0.
    1. Must be a citizen of the United States, and reside in the school’s service region in Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, or Oklahoma. Tax forms are necessary.

    12. C.J. Davidson Scholarship

    Outstanding members in Texas are given 10 scholarships by Family, Career and Community Leaders of America. If the winner continues to be eligible according to the program’s rules, they will continue to receive the scholarship for eight semesters.

    To accept their scholarship, winners must go to the Texas FCCLA State Leadership Conference in the spring. If the grantee is unable to attend, an alternate will get the scholarship.

    Eligibility Requirements

    1. A student must meet the following requirements to qualify: they must major in any area of family and consumer sciences, graduate from a Texas high school in 2022, have an overall high school grade average of 85, and have taken one or more years of family and consumer sciences in high school, enrol in a Texas accredited college with a family and consumer sciences department in the fall of 2022, and meet all of the above requirements.
    1. American College Testing (ACT) and/or Scholastic Aptitude Test results, as well as two letters of recommendation, are required of applicants (SAT).

    13. Charles and Anne Duncan Scholarship

    EligibilitResidents  Requirements

    1. The applicant must be a high-achieving student who lives west of the Mississippi River. of Texas and the Southwest are given preference. There must be a nomination from the school or the Emory Admission Committee.

    14. Concurrent Enrollment Waiver

    Eligibility Requirements

    1. Applicant must be concurrently enrolled in more than one Texas public university or college.
    1. Enrol in courses that the college is compensated for through taxes (i.e., a course that does not depend solely on student tuition and fees to cover its costs).

    15. Courageous Heart Scholarship

    Eligibility Requirements

    1. The applicant must be an active member in good standing who has taken part in a 4-H program for at least two of the last three years.
    1. They must have submitted an official application to a Texas college or university, and they must also satisfy all admissions standards.
    1. Students are required to show proof of the challenges they have encountered.

    Conclusion:

    Students are drawn to the numerous private and public colleges in Texas. Texas is a more affordable destination to study and live in due to its relatively low cost of living. Texas is renowned for its multiculturalism, culinary scene, and collegiate athletics. Texas is an excellent state for students who love the outdoors because of its pleasant year-round environment. These scholarships should be seriously considered because they are accessible to improve students’ lives.
