    List of Medicine and Drug Prices in Nigeria

    Is there a particular drug you want to buy? but you’re not too sure how much it is at your area’s chemist or pharmacy. This article covers the list of medicine and drug prices in Nigeria currently.

    Although the list may not offer you precise pricing since medicine prices in Nigeria aren’t controlled and are determined by drugstore and area, it will give you an approximation.

    However, this information is gathered from a few big pharmacies operating at different locations in the country.

    I also made the list in alphabetical order for ease of access, I hope this helps you address your issue.

    List of Medicine & Drug Prices in Nigeria

    Letter A

    1. Acyclovir 200mg – ₦2,000 per pack.
    2. Adderall (amphetamine) – ₦1,800 per tablet and ₦47,250 for a pack containing 30 pills
    3. Albendazole – ₦400, ₦800, ₦1,000 or even ₦1,400  (Depending on the brand)
    4. Amoxicillin – ₦550 per sachet containing 10 tablets
    5. Ampicillin capsule – ₦250 per sachet
    6. Arthrotec – ₦700 per sachet
    7. Asthma inhaler – (Ventolin inhaler – ₦1,500;  Seretide inhaler – ₦4,550)
    8. Augmentin – ₦3,500 
    9. Azithromycin – Zithromax suspension 1g by Pfizer – ₦4,950;
      – Zithromax suspension (for children) ₦3,500;
      – Zithromax tablets 250mg ₦3650;
      – Zithromax 500mg tablet- ₦4,000.

    Letter C

    1. Ceftriaxone injection – ₦1,500 per ampoule.
    2. Ciprotab (ciprofloxacin) – ₦1,500 per pack.
    3. Clomiphene Citrate – ₦3,500 per pack.
    4. Coartem – Double strength (80/480) – ₦1,700;
      Single strength coartem (20/120) – ₦600
    5. Cyclogest pessary – ₦11,000 per packet

    2. Felvin – ₦70  per sachet.
    3. Fluconazole – ₦2,500 per pack
    4. Fortuin/Pentazocin – ₦3,500 per pack.

    1. HonniHil – ₦1,500  for a pack containing 4 tablets.
    2. Hydrocort-one Cream – ₦700 

    Letter I

    1. Ibuprofen Branded Ibuprofen (Nurofen) 200mg – 1560 per satchet, branded ibuprofen 400mg – ₦2,250 for a pack containing 12 tablets. Unbranded ibuprofen – #400
    2. Imipenem – ₦6,000
    3. Injection cefuroxime (Zinnat) – ₦2,000
    4. Insulin Injection- Humulin – ₦3,250  per ampoule, Mustard – ₦4,500 per ampoule, Actrapid – ₦3,000  per ampoule
    5. Insulin– Short-acting insulin (Humulin) – ₦3900 per vial and at rapid cost ₦3500. While Lantus insulin – around ₦8,000 to ₦10,000  per vial. Lantus – long-acting
