I am sure you can agree to this but put your hand up if you ever questioned whether you could genuinely use grapes inside a recipe. I've always purchased grapes intending to eat them right from the vine. It seems to be the only objective!

Curiosity led to the creation of this recipe. Could grapes be used for more than simply snacking? Could people use them in the same way you would use fruit in those other recipes?

The answer is, of course, Yes! Yes, of course!! In reality, when researching recipes, I discovered that grape desserts exist. Grape Pie is very popular!

I'd never known of it before, but it really is similar to any other fruit pie, only it's prepared with incredibly strong and sweet concord grapes. A simple Google search reveals that it appears identical to a blueberry pie.

Why not use some grapes in a muffin if you use them in a pie? The more bakers thought about it, the more they understood that concord grapes were quite related to blueberries (it is indeed true, grapes are included in the botanical classification of a berry!).

With this new notion, bakers decided to begin experimenting with grapes. Putting grapes in a muffin appeared to be a good place to begin.

Baking with Grapes – Grapes Muffin

You might be hoping for a simpler approach, one in which you could just throw the grapefruits into the dough and go.

You can purchase Sable Black Seedless grapes, which is the ideal option for many bakers who are at loss concerning which grapes to use for their grape muffins recipe.

Sable Black Seedless grapes resembled Concord grapes and were far simpler to include in this recipe. The skin is not too thick, they are seedless, and they have a lovely color. The taste was superior compared to other smaller, black grapes.

All you have to do is cut them into tiny pieces and mix them inside the muffin batter!

    The Procedures Involved

    • Preheat the oven to 425°F. Put paper liners in a cupcake tin.
    • In a large bowl, combine the melted butter, sugar, and vanilla using a spoon or spatula.
    • Add the eggs and mix until well combined. Pour in the milk and stir until completely incorporated. The mixture will be in a very liquid form at this point.
    • In a smaller bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, baking soda & salt)
    • Slowly add half of the flour and fold it into the mixture. Stir. Once mostly combined, add the remaining flour. Continue folding the mixture until the flour has just been absorbed. Do not mix any further! The batter should be thick and lumps are ok.
    • Lastly, add the sliced grapes and gently fold them into the batter.
    • Using a cookie scoop (or normal tablespoon), put 6 tablespoons of batter into each cup (if using a 3-tablespoon cookie scoop, that’s two scoops).
    • Add sparkling sugar to the tops of each muffin (optional)
    • Bake for 5 minutes. Then, reduce the temp to 375°F for another 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
    • Remove from the oven when finished baking and let rest for 10 minutes. Remove from the pan to finish cooling on a rack. These muffins are freezer friendly for up to 3 months!
