Picking the right tampon type can sometimes be difficult. Especially young ladies might find it overwhelming. Tampons are quite convenient hygiene products. And it is very important that you choose the right fit for you. Keep in mind that you might not find the best fit from the first try. You might need to try a few different types and brands to find the perfect one. It is very important that you know the difference between different types of tampons. Read on and find out more!

    Light tampons

Light doesn’t refer to the weight of the tampon. It means that it is suitable for use when your period flow is light. They are slimmer and smaller in size, which is perfect if you want to learn how to wear it. Small size tampons are easier to insert, so you can start from here.

    Regular tampons

Regular tampons can hold up to 5 ml of liquid. These can be good for most days of the period. Super tampons hold up to double of this, so you should pick super for heavy flow days.

You can find both scented and unscented tampons on the market. However, be aware of the fact that artificial scents might cause irritations. Organic cotton tampons feel very comfortable and don’t cause irritations. These don’t contain chemical additives and are the safest option. They come in both regular and super, so you can pick the more convenient one for you. Don’t worry about any unpleasant odors. As soon as you change your tampons every 4 to 6 hours, this won’t happen.

    Junior tampons

Junior tampons are made for young ladies that struggle to insert the tampon. This same type can be labelled Junior or Slim, but it is the same thing. These are so easy to insert, so that’s why they are recommended for first-timers.also, they will feel more comfortable. Don’t forget to check these tips on how to insert a tampon.

Keep in mind that junior or slim tampons might not be available everywhere. You will need to go to a store or pharmacy that has a wider selection of products, and not just the basic ones.

    Active tampon

If you enjoy a more active lifestyle, this type of tampons is suitable for you. They are specially designed for women that do sports or other kinds of physical activity. The special thing about their design is that they have some kind of leak protection. Also, they are made of more flexible materials so that the tampons can feel comfier and move with you. Always prefer natural period products that don’t contain irritating chemicals.

Usually, active tampons can have an extension that will prevent leaking. However, this doesn’t mean that you must take these if you are active. You can always try and find the thing that works for you. Women that aren’t active and are looking for additional protection against leaking can take advantage of these tampons as well.
